So, I’ve decided to write on this anime series that I’m currently watch (among others like Death Note, Shounen Onmyouji (少年阴阳师), Kekkaishi (结界师)). Because I like it so much! I love the pseudo-late 1800s European setting and the amazing plotline. Although Tincampy reminds me too much of a snitch, but that’s all right, it’s cute. And I think Allen and Kanda are so possible. I seem to have a penchant for monster-killing animes, like Tactics, and Shounen Onmyouji, Kekkaishi, Demonbane etc. I know this is really quite unlike me, one would think I indulge in pseudo-porn like Love Hina that’s filled with over-zealous boobs of not-so-pubescent teenage whores girls. Or prolly schoolyard drama of semi-innocent high school girl with impossibly short skirts and long legs who profess their undying love to their cute 20-something sensei who appears a tad proper in face of courtship from these part-time pornstars (or something like that). Nah-ah. The only schoolyard drama animes I watched were Gakuen Heaven (shush I *heart* shounen-ai) and Ouran High School Host Club (Pamela Anderson shadows absent in main protagonists). So yeah. I love monster-killing animes, although not extreme long series like Inuyasha or funny stuff like Yi-Gi-Oh (psst. Is it even monster?!) or something.
So, back to this series. I really love the Allen character; he’s just so full of justice and emotional and cute at the same time. And Kanda is his exact opposite - cool, reserved and uncaring. But I like the dialectics between them (although Kanda’s been missing in the recent few episodes #%@$#%^) Lenalee’s all right I suppose, but then again I’ve never been fond of female characters. -shrugs- And Lenalee’s brother, Komui is just so damn funny and entertaining. So ya, I like this anime because it strikes a balance between funny stuff and serious stuff - after a few episodes of hardcore fighting, it gets balanced out with a fun episode. Gee.
Anyway, if you’re interested in the manga version of D.Grayman, scans are here.
