I made a bag over the weekend (read: procrastination)

I followed the tutorial by Tiny Happy. Quite easy to make, except for the wonky sewing machine. (or maybe it’s my bad skills; haven’t handled a sewing machine since 2000 thereabout)
I bought the cloth at Joo Chiat Complex; the flowery one goes for $2.80 per yard (approx 0.9m) and the plain fuchsia cotton for $2 per yard. Cheap in my opinion (not to my mum though), especially when compared to the overpriced ones at Spotlight. The more I look at the flowery cloth, the more it reminds me of some summer kimono cloth. Heh.
Anyway, I want my own sewing machine. -pouts-

I made this pair of earrings for Sulz and I think it’s really nifty. Since I make trinkets and bind books, why not bring together these 2 crafts and create things befitting a bookworm? The books are real; they are hardbound with blank pages (prolly good for taking down phone numbers or something). I like them so much I nearly couldn’t bear to give them away.
I’m so going to make myself a pair and wear them to school once the new semester starts. And I’m so happy Sulz loves them.
Instead of studying for my lexicology paper, I decided to make a pair of earrings:

It’s a pity that both sides are slightly different in length. Other than that, I really like that Oriental feel about it.
And if you’re wondering, they are for sale.
(How unabashed am I!)
I followed the tutorial by Kargrrl on the Craftster forum and made this nifty little notebook:

Plain on the outside, I know. But once it opens up…

Tada! Pretty, no?
However, do not ask me how one writes on it. I have absolutely no idea.
PS: And I just realized the colours are the exact same shades as the NUS corporate colours. Sheesh.
I’m a person who has many interests (and at the same time I’m good at neither of them). Recently I fell in love with coptic binding and decided to try my hands on it. Well, wasn’t a very good attempt, but an attempt after all!

And that costs me an approximately $3 maximum. This book has 24 pages (48sides) made of thick drawing block paper, and a hardcover made of cardboard. I used … dental floss for the threadings (because do not own waxed strings). So I am never going to buy any of those horribly overpriced journals or notebooks from places like Prints or Borders anymore.
And when I master the art, I might even make them as gifts for people!
And here’s a Youtube tutorial on coptic binding. Really useful!
