Mushroom Pot

Posted by lovelyloey on July 12, 2009

We had a Sunday lunch at The Mushroom Pot at Stadium Walk. My sis has been raving about this place since I came back from the US and today we finally went there, also as a birthday lunch for my mum.

The Mushroom Pot is famous for, well, mushrooms. We had the lunch steamboat buffet featuring a mushroom soup base. With the buffet we also get 5 orders of cooked items, of which we had this interesting fungi called the Monkey Head mushroom (猴头菇) (see 3rd picture from left.) We also had an assortment of mushrooms, vegetables and meat in the steamboat.

I quite like the soup base, but it’s pretty bland since it’s saltless. And there was some strange herb/mushroom in it that gave it an odd aftertaste. Nonetheless, it’s a not-bad steamboat soup base that doesn’t leave you parched from MSG and sodium overkill at the end. I think Coca lovers will love this place since they carry that famous fish glue too.

Visit the official website here.   (They even have a Facebook group!)
