World Englishes and the Convergence of Blogpals

Posted by lovelyloey on October 12, 2007

Currently I’m involved in a Lecture On-Demand series titled “World Englishes and Miscommunications”, which is a lecture series that spans over 5 countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and the Philippines) in SEA and East Asia. We converge on the cyberspace, in a virtual classroom to discuss essentially World Englishes.

Why am I talking about this?
BECAUSE SULZ, WHO IS IN MALAYSIA, IS INVOLVED IN THE SAME PROGRAMME.

(Eek. Somehow I feel like I’m a 15-year-old who’ve met up her IRC friend for the first time. Haha. :P But she cleverly evaded the video camera so she only saw me, and I didn’t see her.)

Anyway, this lecture series promises to be great fun and thought-provoking as we deal with issues with EL in the region.

got carl’s jr here already but haven’t tried – freaking expensive! must save first…

but there’s godiva at singapore, hor? ;)

Godiva? Yes. Heard the chocolate shake thing is totally decadent and sinful. Kinda like molten chocolate. Haven’t tried. Yeah, Carl’s Jr is expensive; 1 burger is approx. 2 McD meals. BUT, I’ll choose 1 Carl’s Jr. burger over McDs any day. :)
